Terms and Conditions

Bookings and Payment:
  1. Tentative bookings are held for two weeks, by which time confirmation must be made in writing and a deposit of 10% is required to secure your booking.
  2. We require invoiced payment in full cleared 7 business days before the event.
  3. If a confirmation has not been received, Kamberra Function Centre reserves the right to cancel the booking and allocate the venue to another client.
  4. For catering and billing purposes, dietary requirements and final confirmation of guests attending is required 14 days prior to the event.
  5. If payment is made via credit card, a 1.5% surcharge will apply. 
  6. A surcharge of 15% to the total bill applies to all Sundays.
  7. Public holiday events/functions will quoted individually.
  8. All prices are exclusive of GST.
  9. Organisers agree to commence and vacate rooms at the times agreed with Management. Early access to the function area is to be prearranged with Management. A venue hire of $350 per hour, or part there of, will apply for any function that continues past the agreed finishing time.
  10. Any additional cleaning, set up or packing down of clients’ equipment or goods may incur overtime surcharge. This must be prearranged with Management prior to the commencement of the event, at which time the amount of the charge will be determined.
  11. Clients/guests are not permitted to access inside the venue prior to the agreed event commencement time, nor are clients.guests permitted to access the venue before or during a wedding ceremony.
Catering Requirements:
  1. For catering and billing purposes, dietary requirements and final confirmation of guests attending is required 14 days prior to the event. Slippage of no more than 10% will be accepted.
  2. Should your numbers increase on the day of the event, we will do our best to accomodate your catering requirements but cannot guarantee this.
  3. No food or beverage may be brought to, or taken from the premise. Your celebratory cake is the only exception.
  4. An extreme level of care is taken to ensure guests with dietary requirements and allergies are catered for. Each meal pre in-house is done with the utmost care, some pre-packaged produce may contain trace elements of allergens. We are not an allergen free kitchen and accept no responsibility or liability for allergic reactions. We request that any guest with a  severe allergy come with an EPI-pen or their own medical support strategy.
  5. Prices remain the same at the time of booking, however in rare circumstances prices may be subject to increase. The client will be notified of any changes to the quoted prices as soon as possible.
  6. We reserve the right to change menus, due to seasonal produce fluctuations. 
  1. Should the function or event be cancelled for any reason the 10% deposit will not be refunded.
  2. The client will be responsible for the sum total of charges for any outside services booked by the centre, on the clients behalf. 
Loss or Damage of Goods:
  1. The Kamberra Function Centre does not accept any responsibility for damage or loss of goods or materials prior to, during or after the function.
  2. Organisers of the function are financially responsible for any charges incurred or damages sustained to the fitting, property or equipment of the Kamberra Function Centre by the client, guests or contractors prior to, during or after the function. We reserve the right to request a bond or credit card details.
  3. Guests are requested to not use or throw glitter, confetti or similar products during their events. A cleaning fee of $200 will be charged to the final invoice should these products be used during the event. 
  1. Should the room booked become unavailable due to causes beyond the control of the Kamberra Function Centre, we reserve the right to use another room. We also reserve the right to change the room if the numbers change, which could incur more costs for room hire and minimum spend fees. 
  2. If weather conditions were unsuitable for a booked outdoor ceremony we would do what was reasonable to accomodate the service within the building, if spaces were available.  If this was not possible there would be no refund for the  booking. 

Guest Conduct:

  1. Organisers are responsible for the behaviour of their guests and will assist management in resolving any situations including the harassment of staff or other guests.
  2. The Kamberra Function Centre reserves the right to refuse service, eject guests or close functions where guests are found behaving inappropriately. If security are deemed necessary for an event, we will choose our preferred security company and invoice the organiser.
  3. The Kamberra Function Centre practices the responsible service of alcohol. To assist your guests’ safety, a responsible service alcohol contact with the event must be appointed by the organiser. This contact will assist management in the liaison with guests in the event that a responsible serve of alcohol issue arises during the event.
  4. The Liquor Licensing Act prohibits the licensed person from serving alcohol to persons underage or persons staff believe to be intoxicated.
  5. Refunds will not be issued if your function has been closed down due to misconduct. The police may be called to escort guests from the premise.
